Year 2

I got way behind on updating this which is too bad because Adrian’s growth has been incredible. So we’ll do a flyby.

Adrian’s 2nd year

13 months

Luckily I took a few notes – At 13 months he had a whole list of words he was already saying.

  • Uh-oh
  • Hat
  • Hot
  • All Di (which means, All Done)
  • Ti ti (Thank you)
  • Bye bye
  • Book
  • Wa-wa (water)
  • Ada (For Adalyn and the whole Williams family)
  • Papa
  • Night night
  • Owl – along with corresponding Hoo Hoo
  • Nana – for Banana
  • Up
  • Down
  • Wow

It was at 13 months that we also discovered Adrian’s passionate love of cars. His favorite toy was a Little People Taco Truck and I noticed one day how interested he was in the wheels. So I bought him a few little cars and he played with them the entire first day he had them. The rest is history.

14 months

Words that Adrian started saying at 14 months

  • Tiga – Daniel Tiger
  • Boobluu – Blueberry
  • Shoes
  • Car
  • Cracker
  • Balloon
  • Apple
  • Coffee
  • Walk
  • Airplane
  • Rain
  • Bread

15 months

At 15 months he had even more words:

  • More
  • Aunt Kee
  • Unc – for Uncle Ted
  • Genga – for Granna
  • Buggy
  • Poop
  • Auto – Dutch for car
  • Birdy
  • Nods yes and no
  • Socks

We went on a family cruise with Genga, Papa, and the Williams family. On the way home from an excursion Adrian charmed a whole group of ladies on the back of our tour bus. He had the entire back of the bus singing “The itsy bitsy spider”. When they were done he gave them exactly the reaction they were hoping for – he clapped and hoorayed.

16 months

At this point I started to forget to note how many new words he had simply because there were so many but I did jot down Heavy, Pumpkin, and Bib.

This was from a day we took a long walk between the dog park and downtown Woodstock. It was a lovely day.

17 Months

At 17 months Adrian started walking! Due to him being such a cautious guy he would have a few setbacks and take his time trying again but he got there.

18 months

Waiting for the plane to take us home from the Netherlands I snapped this picture. What a cool dude? His coolness has already surpassed Ramon and mine.

By far, his favorite Christmas present was this car track. I wish I had a picture of his face when we brought it up from downstairs but as you can see here, he was super pleased.

19 months

At 19 months after a visit with his Dutch cousins prompted him to have an interest in the toilet – he did his first poo-poo in the potty.

It was also the month he got his first haircut! Uncle Ted and Adalyn and Hunter took him. I’ll never forget how grown he looked right after.

20 months

21 months

Adrian and Mommy went on a cruise with Genga and Papa and he was the absolute star. When we walked into the live stage show on the ship – it was like his world opened up. He lit up and danced and danced up and down the aisles. I had to stop him multiple time from running right up on stage but then he got his chance. The dancers picked out people from the audience and the lead took his hand and took him up to dance on center stage. He was recognized the rest of the cruise.

He also got the chance to meet one of his favorite book characters: The Cat in the Hat. His face says it all.

I feel like these pictures really captures what a sweet, smart, and enthusiastic guy Adrian is growing into. He makes us laugh and keeps us guessing every day!
