The post is late but the pictures were taken right on time. Adrian is getting smarter and smarter. He rolls and pivots to anywhere he wants to go and is enjoying more and more solid foods. He remembers so much and his developed object permanence means no more hiding the phone when all he wants to do is play with it.
Eight Months Old
Things Adrian Can Do:
- Pivot using his arms
- Roll around everywhere
- Sit up and play without help
- Stand with help
You can usually redirect a baby away from something they are not supposed to have. Not Adrian; he will not be distracted.
A story: Granna was holding Adrian and he was playing with the zipper on my jacket. I started to play with him but he grabbed my hand and pushed it away so forcefully so that he could get back to playing with my zipper.
Adrian is such a busy boy it’s hard to get him to sit still long enough to eat. Bottle’s are especially uninteresting now that he’s started to eat solid foods and has discovered such yummy things as beets and sweet potatoes.
He’s discovered his tounge so he likes to stick it out at people. All books and musical toys are fascinating and fun.
This is one of our most favorite videos. Ramon had given Adrian an empty can earlier in the day that had crunched nicely when he crushed it. This full can didn’t.
The video below shows exactly what Adrian is like at 8 months. Super curious and enthusiastic. Complete with un-phased head bonk and eating of the drawer handle at the end.
Still no sign of learning to actually crawl because, after all, why learn to crawl when you can just roll to everywhere you need to go?
Every day is a new adventure with Adrian and we can’t wait to see what he learns next.
